It's Been a Good Run...
Guys..
I'm not good at putting my thoughts into words, but I'll do my best.. As you all know Bert is in the hospital, the Doc's say she is improving, but will probably have to go to a rehab for 3-4 weeks... She don't want to go but there is no way I can care for her at home..
Then last night I thought I'd take the Vette to go to the hospital to visit her... well a deer jumps out, & I swerve to the right to try and avoid it, & hit a large rock...
I was able to limp the car home, & it was flatbedded to the body shop... Damage to the right front wheel, fender, rocker panel, etc... Estimate is $5800 and no idea when it will be fixed...
The dog didn't look good today (it was my sons Husky) he got her 6 months before his accident... well the Vet said we "might" have to put her down (she is 14 yrs old)
It don't look like I'll be racing the rest of this yr... so I want to wish the best to all of you guys / girls... As for me ???? I'm totally (fill in the blank)
I don't know what I'll do when / if, I get the Vette back (or even want it back the way I feel)
It's been a good run in the CC since about 2000.. I've have my good, & bad years... and a big thanks to all who helped me with the John Jr. award all those years... Thanks to Cartek for all they have done for me.. and to every one, Mackey, Redgar, Frank F. , Bob S. Bob T...Dennis K.
The list goes on and on...I just cant think of all the name's just now... I can't ever forget Jeanne.. Damn she did one hellova job last yr..!! Waytogo Jeanne!!
A quick "I'm sorry" to Dave T. for me being a dick since 2004...
Not sure if I'll make it to the last two CC this year, and if things get better I hope to see the gang on opening day 2010...
Thanks to all that made the CC my getaway when I needed it...

I feel bad for ya John and wish I could help ya.
You're a retired cop and a tough guy when you need to be so take two days for your pity party, then suck it up, tell them to get that car done and get your azz to the track.

JP,
As I have always told you take life one day at a time. In life there are good times and bad times. Be strong. You and your family will endure these tough times.
Once your Vette is repaired you will be on your way to another Corvette Challenge.
Please give Bert our best for a speedy recovery.
If ever you need to talk, you know the number.

JP, sorry to hear about all the poop raining down on you right now. But, remember, all this will pass...it always does. The CC won't be the same without you there...so I'm sure you'll be back bud in a jiffy.

There are so many things that are out of our control. Just realize that you alone cannot change them. That is when we need to step back and let God take care of them. Seek and you will find. Knock and a door will be opened. Be patient in times of affliction. Our support is with you.
Hope to see you back at the track soon.

Panuzz.....
Sorry to hear that my friend. All the best to you in a rough time. I'm with Mackey....when you're sitting up in a high chair eating baby food, you have a problem.
I'll say some prayers for your Wife.

John I have been dealing with issues with my wife for 2yrs + she is going to have her 13th surgery on her arm after the new year in that time frame.
Having a 9yr old and a 4 yr old makes the one arm bandit go nuts.
Needless to say I have missed my share of challenges and fun over that time.
JP maybe it's time to trade in the red for some Mona Vei and see if that can help, if not a nice single malt will.
Bert's in our prayers.
