Stiff wall slicks v drag radials with stick car
I have two sets of rear wheels now, so I'm trying to find the best race tire that will work with our style IRS set up and get me the best ET.
I currently have M/T ET street drag radials 275/60/15...best 60th was 1.629.
I also have Hoosier Quick Time Pros 28x11.5x15 bias ply...best 60th was 1.699..but my ET was .3-.5 slower and my mph was 4-5mph less with the Hoosiers over the drag radials. I've found out that other c3 guys found that these hoosiers hurt their perf at the strip because they dont work well with our style suspension.
I'm running a stick and car is 3350lbs with me in it...c3. I've seen on other forums that M/T makes a stiff wall drag slick now that is suppose to be good for stick cars and cars that weight over 3000lbs. I've talked a guy with a 70 camaro that has similar motor/trans combo as me and he went faster and had a better 60ft by swapping for drag radials to the new MT stiff wall slicks...His car was slightly heavier then mine but its a solid axle
Have any of the drag racers on here used these style slicks? looking for any input....Not many c3 drag racers in my area.

The M/T 28x10.5 in with the (S) compound is the one I have used for years.
The car was videoed by my buddy one day, when I found out that the soft compound was wrinkeling way down to the wheel on launch I have been runing them for 10Years in the 9's screw them on and put good tubes in them with lots of babby powerand never worry 1.29 to 1.35 60's.

I have been using the Hoosier stiff sidewall slick for 3 years now...28x10.5x15...I launch at 3760 lbs...my short times are 1.50 to 1.54 depending on the track and weather...I get about 100 passes out of a set...the sidewalls break down before the tread wears out...one nice thing is they do not lose much air while sitting...maybe a lb. a week...when I used MT's they went flat in a week...

I have been running the 28X10.5S MT on my 84 and its cutting consistant 1.27 60fts... stock rear IRS. 5.90'S in the 1/8th at 3100lbs.
I very much like the stiff sidewall tire, works great on my car.

thanks for info guys.
I pulled my soft hoosier QTP off my wheels and im selling them to a buddy this weekend and then Im going to try a set of the MT 28x10x15 (3055S) stiff wall slicks.
I only have an 8.5" wheel so I hope they work well, not sure if I can fit a 10" back there.
