David Shen Sr. has passed away
It is with heavy heart that I share this news with you. Dave Shen called me a week ago to tell me his dad, David Shen Sr., was very ill. Last night he called me again and it was to inform me that his dad had passed away in the afternoon. He asked me to share this with our Corvette racing community as he and has dad have been a part of our Corvette drag racing community since the beginning of our Corvette Challenge. The father and son duo was a familiar and friendly site at our races and I am very sorry that David has lost has father and teammate. I have always envied the relationship they had spending time together doing something they both loved.
My thoughts and prayers are with you David and your family.

Always a great competitor and I will miss him. He was always at David's side.

Sending you heart felt condolences and prayers during this difficult time. Your Dad was a great man and I will truly miss seeing and talking to him in the pits. May God Bless Him.

Condolences to Dave and the family. I just saw this. I met Sr. only twice I think, once being at Etown when we did 'pinks all out.' He was very friendly and a nice guy. Sorry for your loss.

Very sad to to hear this. Vivian and I share our condolences and prayers with Dave and the Shen family. We knew both Dave and his Dad (Senior) quite well and were fierce competitors for a long time. They both motivated us to be on our game or hit the trailer. It was wonderful to see them working as a team at the track and we're very sorry to hear of this loss

I'm very surprised and saddened to hear this. I talked with Dave's father in the pit's at the CC and other events on numerous occasions back when we had the Indexes going. He was very knowledgeable and always very pleasant. I'm very sorry for Shen's family's loss.

Oh wow, so sad to hear this. 
I have such fond memories of arriving at E-town's front gate extra early on Saturday mornings to beat the long lines and hanging with/talking to 'Team Shen' while waiting for the gates to open, also pitted near them often during the 2009-2011 seasons.
Great father/son team for sure, my condolences to Dave Jr. and the rest of the family/friends.
