the brutal heat continued into late September (temperature reached 102*f, with a heat index of 119*f on Saturday 17 September), so I didn't try to begin moving things to my garage before visiting my Mom in Taxylvania for 2 weeks, and since 1 October I have been fighting my 2nd bout of gout since March, but am doing better than I did since the 1st battle 7+ months ago:
during my visit, I spoke with a financial planner, and decided that I will drastically cut-back on my lawn-mowing next year, so I can dedicate more effort to going racing in my latter years
the weather is getting MUCH better (highs in the mid 80*'s, lows in the 60*'s), and in the next few weeks I hope move into my new shop (I have no friends in the area to help me relocate things, and it'll be done by-myself), make a few changes to my tow-vehicle, get the race car home and off the trailer, and get it ready for competition:
as a birthday present to-myself, I started the Z28 in late August (for the 1st time since last December), and it guzzled 8 gallons of methanol on the trailer in short-order, probably startling the neighbors during their dinner-hour
I know you Northerners are parking your race cars for the Winter, but our season is just getting started down here ~ the 1st weekend (Sat/Sun) of November is a pair of $5,000-to-win No-Box races at South Georgia Motorsports Park (4 hours away), the following weekend is a trio (Fri/Sat/Sun) of $10,000-to-win S/P races at Bradenton (90 minutes away), followed by four (Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun) $12,000-to-win events the next weekend at Immokalee Regional Raceway (3 hours distant):
there are races the weekend of and after Thanksgiving at local tracks, while recent weeks have seen good-paying No-Box / Foot-Brake races in the Carolinas, and Bradenton's 2017 Points Series begins on 14 January
God-willing, I'll be attending many of these events next year, and contributing to the Winner's purses

Bruce can't be a young man now, but he is one of the few who can rightly say "I've done it all"
