They tell me the racing will be all 1/8 mile this year...based on that I will be racing points with y'all...I can't make this first event since my car is not ready but will see you in January...looking forward to being part of your divisional team...
Looks like it will be 24 hour days when I come down...up at 3:30AM, leave at 4:30...arrive at 8AM...two races back to back finishing around 11 or 12 midnight...then a 3.5 hour tow home...sigh...

Why the 1/8..?
I thought PBIR was 1/4 mile..
If thats the case, I may move to the west coast side!

As for as I know it will be 1/8 this year. Won't really know until the schedule comes out. but everbody down here in florida races 1/8 bradington , lakeland, I think orlando speed world which is NHRA . So when you do move down here in florida start saving those 1/8 mile time slips.

At this point El, every tracks points events are 1/8 mile...there are a few events left at 1/4 mile like Rick said...Citrus Nats at PBIR, Night of Fire at OSW and Super Chevy at PBIR...that's it...all the big money events are at 1/8 mile...
No disrespect to anyone but once you race 1/8 for a bit you will really enjoy it...it is a drivers race...everything happens real fast, no time for mistakes...after a while when you do race a 1/4 mile event it seems boring...once you hit the 1/8 mile pole you are in 3rd and might as well be cruising on the garden state parkway...lol...
Anyway, come on down....we have a lot of big money events you'll like...a new 3 day footbrake event just popped up...10 grand to win each day for a total entry fee of $225...woot!.....

Dan,
I am surprised you are going to make the long tow to PBIR on a regular basis. Are you giving up on OSW?
BTW, I won the special OSW event on 11/30. $300 payout is chump change to a big money racer like you but nice for a amateur like me .

Yes, Rick went to the final in one of the events...unfortunately he went up against Super Sonny in his Camaro who was hot as heck...Sonny put an 8 pack on him if I recall correctly...maybe it was an 11 pack but whatever, it was brutal...Sonny won three of the four events that day...both no box's and one box...same car...sheesh...
Jim, I am dog tired of fighting the traffic through the center of Orlando to get to Lakeland...this is for IHRA points only...I don't race NHRA points at Orlando anymore...my plan is to race PBIR 6 times (3 trips down there) which will qualify me for the divisional team as long they are not full up...
I will still race OSW regularly for money as always...can't get rid of me that easily...lol...
Big congrats on your win, buddy...you work at it and really deserve it...I'll take a 300 buck win anytime...I heard you put some good racers on the trailer...again, great job!...
See you next month, Rick and Jim...

In a uhaul storage. Trailer is being used by a friend. Pointless anyway because I traded my truck (early trade) for a Challenger. Hope to get it around Dec 18 or so. I want to go back to cheaper basics and drive to the track and race. Blueberry's engine is out and the car is up in Lancaster Pa. Trying to sell it as a roller or turnkey as soon as the engine is rebuilt. The other tow car is our Cherokee which is up in York Pa being used by our daughter for the winter. Sooooo plan is to get back into racing this winter. Drive the Challenger to the track or tow the firebird with the Cherokee. Blueberry may come south if its not sold and back running before spring. If done later it will go to my frined's house (Bud McNasby) in Jersey and he will run the car in the 10.0 index until its sold, Can we get any more complex???
