2015 Englishtown, NJ racing season
OK guys, while the schedule is still a little fluid, here is what appears to be on tap for racing at Etown 2015 racing. FIRST..I must stress...get a rule book and set your car up accordingly as little leaway will be allowed with the "new" schedule.
Here is the information that I know of for now (some things are still being set up).....
There will be some Friday nights but not every one, only a select few will be used for Mean Street & Gamblers (as well as time only I believe). If you sign up for MS (Mean Street) and there is a full field, usually 32 cars, and you don't qualify you can jump to Gamblers. At this time the decision is that under that circumstance there will not be an additional charge, but let's see what happens when all is finalized. The second thing on the MS race is that if you loose 1st round, you can then jump to Gamblers with an additional charge paid in the lanes.
Saturday's are gone..!!!
The CC & Modern Muscle will be a Sunday when there is points racing, it will be under the CC/MM Combo but no longer will "Combo Cards" be offered. You will however be able to run another class on Sunday if you wish but it is a separate tech card. The Sunday program will include the "normal" Super Pro - Pro ET - Street ET or on the appropriate days, Index racing. So if you race in the CC/MM Combo and want to also race in the Pro ET class, or Street ET class (if your slower then 11.5) you can buy that tech card as well. One of the reasons for the CC/MM Combo is to allow the "older" carbureted cars still run in the CC as by it's name MM is fuel injected and that was a major factor to the track management to not leave anybody out from racing in the CC...I hope you appreciate that if your a carbureted car, they have not done anything like this for any other class.!!!
This is what we are dealing with this season, so please make all your considerations under these stats.
One other thing....Don't knock Sunday racing until you try it..!!! for one thing on Sunday's you have 7 second cars running on each points day, so the traction will be super. If you can't hook on a Sunday points day, you will never hook up..!!! Plus, if you elect to run either Super Pro (electronics class) or Pro ET (non electronics), the payout is determined by the car count, and that schedule is on the trophy window. You can check it and see that a $1000 payout is not uncommon, and it pays down some also.
The final schedule should be out by the end of the month and opening day is scheduled for March 1, 2015

Sounds good, but I am sure some will not like it. This is moving in a positive direction.
This would not allow me to run the Mustang and the Vette this season. I was hoping to run the Mustang in Top Street and run the CC. I will need to think of a different strategy.

Rob, will both cars fit into the trailer? Maybe you can bring both and run both TS & CC classes... That way you will be so busy and running around it gives the rest of us a better chance..LOL

I just thought of something that I did not mention on Sunday's. The race day, Sunday, is "MONEY ONLY" racing, the only exception is the Test-N-Tune run car @ $100 which are mostly "real race cars". You can see that not many "street cars" would be willing to pay $100 to run, and then only be able to make two runs before eliminations (plus if they miss one they loose it) then sit until after at least 2nd round of ALL classes that day. That means that the Test-N-Tune cars may get two runs in by 12 p.m. but then not make another until after 2 p.m. or later, and that is if there are no problems on the track (breakdowns or oil downs).

Not a fan of the decision...
But,,,,,You can't tell someone how to run their business.
I'll try to make Fri nights & some Wed if they have them...
Sad there's not going to be a Sat for a Street Car Series.
Once a month would work!
Oh well.. Hope to see everyone at some point in the near future!
Best of luck to all for the upcoming season!

I'll go against the norm here... Saturday's just never seemed to work out for me to race E-Town. Sunday's will work great for me, as there will be no conflict with any other track and as long as I'm not working, I'll be there.
Thanks for posting up a thorough explanation...

I find it odd that Etown would forgo Saturday's. Were any reasons given as to why? Glad to hear Sundays are still on the schedule. I've run both Saturdays and Sundays at Etown in the past, didn't think the track was all that much better on Sunday vs. Saturday. The only difference is noise. You can run without mufflers on Sunday from what I recall.

I always liked racing on a Sunday@E-town.
Happy to see the CC continue despite Saturday's being taken off the schedule.

I'll probably go back to running Top Street and 10.0 on Sundays. If they allow buy-backs in Pro, I'll stop running that class.
It's too bad about Saturdays, just not enough participation. I made just about all of them with one of my cars, sometimes doubling with my son in the TA. Saturdays were a great day for new racers also. Plenty of classes to pick from, could double or triple enter to get more seat time, heck, Bill would be in four classes on the same day using two different vehicles!
