I think that's the point, Rob. There's a lot of fast street cars and it seems they want to limit it to the tire. Run what ya brung - as long as it's on a stock size tire.
with a little grudge action mixed in.

I have Nittos on yellow 18" wheels. Not sure if I should carry front and rear wheels for a 8 and 9 second class. I would also need to change the tires for each class.

The rules state late model - recent production, but don't state year. I'd think 97 or newer would fit.
A gutted 4th gen? 16" wheel - but what tire?
Jay, you think there's a tire out there that will fit these rules and still get into the 8's?

and LT powered cars"
The C5 Corvette rules should be same as C5Z rules (same exact suspension) Z gets a 295/18 tire
Hooking for 8's - guess that depends on track & driver. I think a 295 DR could get it done

Actually the C6Z has the best chance, tire wise

OK, so we have about 2 1/2 months to build a C6Z/auto conversion with a 427/YSi (or F1X - As I happen to know a guy selling one)

$800 big time money -
plus contingency. probably another $2000 or so...
Who is John Miller? I was thinking of Robert Miller.
I bet we (you) could build a winner for about $50K...

50K - $2,800. = -$47,200 ( I finally started doing the math for these races)
