C6 Z06 vs Hellcat

Drifting
OK this is so weird. I still haven't raced him because I am having second thoughts and kinda scared but he just raced a filter & headers ZR1 and he lost to it like 2 or 3 cars. I don't think I have any match for him.
Are you guys sure about this? From what roll should I go with him for the best?

It all comes down to who's driving the cars... Can you drive your car??

Ironically, I am a Mopar guy. I do appreciate the Hellcat but have not yet driven one. With that being said, I will stand by my original statement. My stock C6Z on DRs went 10.91 in good air on its third trip to the track. The best passes I have ever witnessed were Ranger going 10.71 on DRs and Dr.Ron going 10.75 on DRs. So stock for stock on DRs it could be a driver's race. Now when you change to bolt-ons, here are the results.

Read your article on the drag car. Nice approach to drag racing, using what power you have and putting focus on getting it to the ground. Now the launch makes perfect sense knowing there is a spool on there and the other drive train changes. What a beauty. What is it like to drive around town with a spool?

As for the 60' on that pass, it was a 1.38. As for the sound, we switched over to a short muffler for the Import vs. Domestic race we were asked to run in the week before. If we elected to go cam only per their rules, we would have been much more competitive; however, that was not the plan. We had another team member (robz) that was rowing the gears in his cam only LS6 C5Z. Here's the vid of final eliminations. Rob's car is at 3:13, 8:37, 9:16, 11:50 (Bye round into the finals) and 12:09. Enjoy.

No spool, just built 4.10s based on a C6 case. The center section unlocks like normal around corners. Other than that and the RPS clutch, the drivetrain is OEM. (Stock torque tube, original shocks (removed the rear coilovers for the pass above), rebuilt OEM trans)

The track looked prepped pretty good. The blue C5 was cool. First time seeing the intake snout like that right were the license plate would be.

VERY NICE PASS!! what are the bolt ons must be heads too?
That car leaves very hard! kinda like watching my drag car leave.
(555 inch bbc Monte SS on spray runs 8.40 at 165 1.21 60 with 2 ft under the wheels for 300 ft.)
I follow the other forum as well, Just saw pulley, injector, tune, 3.09 gear drag radial Hellcat go 9.9 so still a great race.
My Hellcat had 800 miles on it went 11.2 and will stay stock except for dr's or QTP's and I use my C5Z's for road racing still own the monte but have not been out for a few years .
I will just say it is a HELL OF A GOOD TIME TO BE A CAR GUY

power to weight doesnt lie 6.2 helcat versus 5.6 bolt on c6z the vette would pull from 0 to whatever... sure an auto hellcat could pull on a bad start z but doesnt change that even a stock c6z is a quicker car all around..
just like the example of the tesla beating helcats... give helcat intire 1/4 mile with average driver and helcat wins...
with all said Stock helcat is way sexier then a stock c6z

Sorry for this guys but I just wanna make sure if I still have a chance with a stock Hellcat at 75 miles roll. Your thoughts on this?
The last thing on my mind is I wanna lose to a stupid Hellcat. My car made 509 just a few days ago as I replaced the throttle body.

Melting Slicks
They're just cars and it should be fun, don't take it so personally.
I was steamrolled by a 1040rwhp Hellcat at the 1/2 mile last weekend in my 640rwhp ZO6. The guy played it off like it was mostly stock, rolled up the line and smiled...then purged his nitrous. I yelled at him and said "Oh, come on! Really!?" with a smile and he started laughing. He asked if we wanted to a dig or roll, and when I told him dig...he said "Great, that'll give you guys time to build a lead before I stop spinning". We hung with him until the start of 4th gear when he stopped spinning and just took off like he lit a rocket on the back bumper. Cleared 186 to our 164mph pass. We had a good laugh about it after, and he was a cool guy to BS with. Point is, there will ALWAYS be someone faster. Learn to deal with it and have some fun.
