Default New or old shocks for drag racing?

I know it's a wierd question, but I was wondering if older gas shocks on my C5 will let the weight transfer slightly better to the rear than brand new shocks?
I am making my final 1/4 mile runs this spring and wondering if I should delay installing my new C6 Z06 shocks.

I went 1.36 with C-6 Z06 shocks
Stock bottom end 346 NA if that helps...
Also have the same 60 foot with a set of 04 shocks

Back in the old days, they sold what were known as 90/10 shocks that had tons of compression dampening and almost no rebound dampening. So they would essentially hold the front end up for a while when racing. I guess you could get somewhat the same, but lesser, effect from worn shocks.

That was exactly my original logic. I just don't know if it has any merit. But thanks for the validation!
