We tested again last night...same result...went slower than my Camaro...FTI swears 4:30's are not enough gear for the big tire...next Thursday we will take out the 4:30's and put the 5:13's back in...we'll test next Friday night and see...also on Thursday we will pull the top of the motor and check everything including a leak down test just to be sure...

Oh well...this is drag racing....sigh....
GL Dan , frustrating as all hell but you will get it right I'm sure. Better to fix her up in the heat & running sweet for the cooler months ahead.

I went to the track last night to test the Monte with the new found 75 HP at the wheels...she went 6.75 twice...spun bad on the first pass and tire shake on the second...should have been in the 6.60’s easy...1.48 short time which is way too high...the slicks may be shot and the 5:13 gears are producing too much wheel speed...sigh...gonna see if I can find out how old the slicks are and, if old, order new ones today...if that let’s me hook I will leave it alone for a while and just race it...down the road a bit I will put new gears in, probably 4:88’s or 4:56’s...not sure yet...the converter is real tight...went through the 1/4 mile traps last night at 6800 rpm with all that gear at 124 mph...

The dyno pulls told us she stops making power at 6200 rpm...we set the shift chip at 6200 for that reason...anyway, that is the latest...when the car hooks it should run 6.60’s easy and 6.50’s with a little tweaking...btw, the dyno also told us I do not have enough carb...I have a 1050 CFM Quickfuel and it is maxed out...I need to move to a Dominator...

Please keep your eyes out for anyone needing a 1050 Quickfuel carb which is a year old...I will sell it for 400 bucks....also anyone needing 4:30 gears for a Dana 60, I have some brand new ones with literally 3 passes on them...I’ll sell them for 200 bucks, they cost me 300 only 3 weeks ago....sigh.....

Hope you get the combo figured out FD. Are you sure that carb is a 1250? I didn't think they came that big in a 4150. I'll spread the word.

You are correct, sir...I misspoke...mine is a QF 1050 cfm...I will get it figured out soon...I believe we changed the dynamics on the previous set up...my BBC makes the nose about 200 lbs. heavier...need to adjust the rear suspension some...

When we get it right it should run 50's and, with a dominator carb, 40's...honestly that is all I need...my main guy will be gone for a month so we will get back at it the end of July....sigh...
