Default [PICS] CCW Drag Wheels in Black

Here are some pics of my CCW drag package. These are 16" wheels with skinnies up front and 26x11.5x16 ET Streets in back. John at CCW was awesome to work with, and did a great job getting me these wheels in time for the Cartek Corvette Challenge. On my 1st and only pass with them I managed a 1.67 60ft, this was with the tires completely brand new, the stickers were still on the tread. Unfortunately, I messed up my 3-4 shift on that run, and over-revved the motor. But, when I get the car back, I'm hoping for consistant 1.5x 60fts on these tires, they are AWESOME!

Billy they look awesome and you don't even have to clean them. This polished alum is a pain in the BUTT to keep clean.

Damn right Bill!

Bill thanks very much, now I want a set. :) What kind of tape are you using, plain old duct tape or something a little easier on the paint?

I'm using masking tape. It's the type painters use, you can buy it at any hardware store. It's very easy on the paint, and peels off super easy.

Do you always have to use skinnie front tires when using fat Drag tires? ;)

You don't have to use skinnies, but they make the car far more stable at high speeds. I've never experienced it, but running ET Streets with stock tires up front supposedly makes the car feel very floating at higher speeds. I believe it's the combination of bias ply tires in the rear and radial tires up front that makes the car so unstable at speed. I decieded to go for the whole deal with skinnies since I didn't feel like getting the car sideways at 120mph. :D
