Default Took my car out for the first time

So I bought this car last weekend and I really wanted to see what it could do. The car has TF255 heads, cmc-20 cam, yank 3200, kooks long tubes. I borrowed some 275/40r17s MT RT STREET. The owner told me it made 450whp at 21 century. I made 11 passes 8 out of the 11 were 11s (11.9-11.7) all at 119mph (which seems incredibly slow for 450whp in a auto). I'm happy with the 11s back to back all night for the first time ever drag racing a auto car. But my trap is very disappointing. I know a few people running 119 with stock ls3 that are tuned.

I'm still learning the stall. If I stalled it up to around 2200 2500 I would get low 1.8 or high 1.7 60s. If I held it at idle and flashed it on the second yellow and went I spun all of 1st both times I tried that (my 2 12 second passes).

Overall I'm happy with driving 3 hours running 11s back to back and driving home. I'm just disappointed that a h/c/stall car is trapping stock with a tune speed. So a tune is next on my list.

This was the first pass. I forgot to open the exhaust with the mild to wild.

The weather was in the low 90s high 80s with a real feel of 97 to 99.

That was what I said after my 4th run. Hopefully I can be that consistent once it gets more power.

Your traps speeds are down because of the weather. With much better air you could easily pick up 4-5 mph, maybe more.

I trap between 113-118 depending on the weather with a dyno tuned stock ls3. The tune picked me up 3 mph.

Your car is very consistent. Who did the tuning on it?

Matt@21 century. I'm still new to this na thing. My last car was a ls6 cam and nitrous, and before that was a big turbo srt4. I normally trapped around the same mph in the neon every time I went to the track.

I was just extremely upset with the mph after looking at bolt on ls3 mph on this site and the slowest head cam ls3 was a 10.68@126 on the list.

I know the car will have a better et once I figure out the sweet spot to launch it with my new drag radials. This is the first auto I've owned besides my truck and the first car with a stall I've ever driven.

Like Steve said, you are down 5 MPH due to the weather. Also I see a big opportunity for improvement in the 60 ft. A C5 that I used to have would run 11.357 @ 119.49 with a 1.590 short time. So perhaps your 60 foots will improve with experience, or your converter is not ideal. Either way, your car is not topped out, it will go quicker!

Oh yeah I figured it has a lot more in it. The et streets I used were old (over 2 years) with a bunch of passes. The guy I borrowed them from told me I need to roast them I just got them to smoke and let off. I have some brand new m&h drag radials I just need to get themy mounted one my wheels get here.

Go to Dragtimes.com and enter all the info from your time slip. It will calculate your ET and MPH corrected for D.A. You may be surprised how much the weather hurt your times.

Thanks! I'll check it out in a little. I know it wasnt the best weather it rained about half the 3 hours drive to the track. Once I got to the track the racing was on hold as a storm passed by
