Help me with tires!
Hello everyone, I need some help with picking my next tires. My car is a 2000 C5 M6, cam and bolt ons for now (stock 3.42s), in the near future possibly heads or nitrous. I make just shy of 400rwhp as it sits now. I had some NT05r, but I set them up wrong when I used them... 35 psi I know dumb mistake lol. I couldn't figure out why I was still spinning on them. Dropped them down to 25 psi and didn't spin as much but still spun a good bit. I don't have my slips with me so I can't post times and everything but it was something like 2.0 60ft and 12.8 1/4 (yes driver mod needed lol). I since sold them and I'm wanting to run a slick. I'm curious about the Hoosier 28 inch slick on a 17 inch rim. Would anyone suggest that for me? Or go DR again but lower psi more? The car is still on DD duty for now but will soon be replaced. I drag the car strictly for fun and only go on test and tune nights. What would you guys suggest!? Thanks Brandon

28" tire is too big for your power level. Especially with 3.42 gears.
Stock clutch? Hoosier 275/40/17.
Aftermarket clutch? Hoosier or MT 26" bias ply. Run skinnys up front if you use bias out back.

It has the stock clutch in now, but will be replaced with a monster clutch soon. Do they make that size in 17? I can't seemed to find it? Thanks Brandon

You can run a 16" wheel on the rear with a little messaging of the upper ball joint cap.
I haven't researched 17" wheel tire combos in several years, so I'm not sure what's available in a bias tire.

We had really good luck with the Hoosier Drag Radials and, being really short, they'll help a little with gearing. I'm just worried your M6 car will hit them too hard on the launch as they're really, really short tires. We ran mid 1.3's on a good pass and spun to a 1.39 60' once.
