Does anybody know if there are rear end gears lower than 4:10 and who makes them? I've been thinking about doing some drag racing with a c5 and the local tracks are 1/8 mile. I will be using 26-28" tires with an ls1/a4 combo to start with. If I stick with it I will probably build the car to around 500 hp. Time will be limited as I also autocross a c5z and don't want to give that up. Thanks, Gary.

I don't know of anyone offering rear gears beyond 4.10. For what it is worth my C5 has the setup you describe and I run a 3.73 RPM diff plus a Yank converter with 3200 stall and have good results on the 1/8 mile while retaining street manners.

Direct swap in gears which have a higher ratio are not available.

I'm not sure that you will need gears lower than 4.10 for what you are doing but they are not available for a C5 or C6 diff. If you want to go lower you will need to go to a 9" center section.
