Holley 4150-4160 whats the difference?
Whats the basic difference between these two models? Ive heard of kits that are available to convert the 4160 into a 4150. What would be the advantage of making this change? The carb I have now is 4160 list-1850.

The 4150 and the 4160 are almost identical. The 4150-3310 models were used on cars starting with the Hi-Perf 427 engine on the 66 Vette. The difference is the secondary metering block. If you want to fine tune your carb, you can get a kit to convert to the 4150 metering block which will allow you to change the jets and power valve.

As already posted, the main difference is in the secondary metering. Using replacable jets and a power valve instead of the metering plate allows for more adjustment. Most 4150's have other features compared to your 1850 also. Most have mechanical rather than vacuum secondaries and accelerator pumps on the secondaires (hence the name "double pumper"). They usually have center hung floats and dual feed fuel bowls also.
