Default Milling Heads increases Compression by?

Can’t remember all the details of how this works, but if you mill the heads on a SBC .010, do you lose about 1 cc of chamber volume, or about a tenth of a compression point? The actual number is not exact, but close enough for guesstimating.

Now on a BBC, how much of an increase in compression can be expected by milling the heads .010 or .020? Using a 119 cc head.

Default Re: Milling Heads increases Compression by? (dsagers)

I just checked the specs on the AFR web site for their "as cast" BBC heads and they call for 5-7 thousands per CC depending on how the heads milled "Angle vs Flat"

Hope this helps
