Default will my belt slip? c5 with d1 procharger

Okay so i have a c5 vette with a D1 procharger. All the pulleys are for an 8 rib belt but when i got the car there is a 6 rib on it and its eating away on the one side. i checked the alignment and its off so i know that needs to get fixed. The engine is an Ls6 fully forged its at around 600hp now. My main concern is, is the belt going to slip from the power?

I can't speak for the D1 Procharger arrangement, but all the belt slippage problems that I've seen on C5's have been due to just two factors: (1) pulley misalignment somewhere in the system; and/or (2) a weak belt tensioner If you get those two items corrected, you should minimize the problem.

Hope this helps!

I will look into that asap. The alignment problem i have now is that it looks like the procharger has to be pushed back to line up with the rest of the pulleys. It is slowly eating away the inside of the belt. Then i was gunna get an 8 rib belt put it on because that is what each pulley calls for except for the alternator pulley. But now i will look at the belt tensioner and see what is going on.

thanks for the help!

There are two steps you need to take to correct your problem.

1) Get an eight rib belt.

2) Properly align all the pulleys.
