Best Heavy Duty Header Gaskets
Hello All,
I have owned a couple of C3's and am now a big fan of the LS engine architecture, so my next Vette will likely be LS powered. Meanwhile I have been working on an LS powered "vehicle" of a different kind, and am looking for recommendations with regard to the best exhaust header gaskets to use with headers (Hooker Super Comp blockhuggers).
My project can be seen here: http://altitudegroupllc.com/aircraft/p85/
This engine uses an LS2 block with LS3 heads and intake. Modified to drive a dual pickup MSD distributor with dual MSD 6 boxes, controlled by an aftermarket ECU with a panel mounted display to allow fuel curve mods "on the go".
Appreciate any gasket recommendations.
Jeff

Burning Brakes
My first experience with sealing LS series exhaust manifolds/headers was with SCCA T1 racers. They used Permatex Red RTV high temp sealant with excellent results instead of gaskets. I've used it on the street with the same results. YMMV, but I recommend that you try it.
Hope this helps!
