Default Help with new engine

84 corvette
GM performance block
eagle rods/flat top pistons
515/246 lunati cam
roller rockers1.5
dart iron eagle 72cc 165 cc intake heads
Edlebrock rpm performer intake
Race demon 650 carb

2500 stall converter(?)
stock 3.07 dana36 rear

Trans is supposed to be heavy duty built with shift kit

I know with this combo I will lose low end torque/ H.P. but it has nothing off the start . I wouldn't say its bogging its just really slow to tach up. does anyone think 3.73 gears will help this or does it sound like they gave me a stock torque converter. the guy who built it assured me the the t/c is correct but I don't know how can I tell? nOW HE wants me to pay another $150. for a "better" t/c and another 300. to put it in. I say B.S.
I think this is a common build so if anyone can give me some of their experience it would be great . Thanks

frankinvett84- at what rpm does the car actually hook up when you start from a standstill? Your 2500 converter should not make the car move much at all until the engine reaches 2500 rpm. If your "mechanic" did not show you the converter or the box it came it, it could be just the stock converter as you suspect. If that's the case, 3.73 gears will still have you working down in the low rpms where you do not have much torque.

If it was me there would be 4.11s and a 3500 stall minimum
Youll need a sticky tire, night and day difference than what you have now
That converter you have in there now is practically stock, 307 gear will never work with that cam
