Electric choke for Quadrajet?
Is there an electric choke available for a Quadrajet? I'm using the original Quadrajet on my 77 with Vortec heads and an Edelbrock Performer spread bore manifold. The manifold has no provision for heat to the choke. Are there any manual choke setups that would work? Thanks for any info.

The 1980 L82 had an electric choke element in the choke housing. Get this part from any autoparts store. Check pricing though since it varies from $22 to $34 depending on the store. The old unit may use screws or rivets to attach the choke cover, so if rivets you'll need to drill them out. If they were rivets, just use self tapping screws to hold the new unit in and the screws allow you to adjust how much choke. If you current carb uses screws, it's an easy swap

Go to a junkyard and find a quadrajet with an electric choke and put it on your carb, its a 10 minute job to swap out, just did it this spring.
