How much HP gain from LT-1 to "Hot LT-4 conversion" ?
A speed shop trying to sell me a LT4 conversion package (cam, heads, roller rockers, intake) claims I will gain 100= HP to my LT-1. I don't remember the stock LT4s (Collector Edition) being advertised as a 400 HP car.
Has anyone done mods similar to this, and what were your results? Thanks in advance. Jeff :confused:

There are many people running the LT4 HOT cam on the C4 TECH forum. If you search for dyno numbers for stock LT4's with HOT cam, you'll see I believe around 340rwhp (6-speeds, of course). A lot of LT1 owners are using the cam as well. With ported LT1 heads, long tube headers, cat ack exhaust, electric water pump and tuning, the HOT cam seems to top out at 370rwhp, again, for 6-speed cars.
HOT cam has .525 lift i/e with 1.6rr, 218* I, 220something E
LT1 stock heads flow around 220cfm Intake, with 170??cc intake runners
LT4 stock heads flow around 245cfm Intake, with 195??cc intake runners
LT1 ported heads flow around 265cfm Intake
I've heard ported LT4 heads can flow over 300cfm, but haven't seen any evidence.
The specs for the hot cam and stock heads can be found at gm performace parts online: https://www.spoperformanceparts.com/
The flow numbers I pulled from memory from data I've seen on the web, here in the forum, and from Desktop Dyno2000 files
Corvette forum also has supporting venders that offer us great discounts on GM parts. I've bought a few from Jeff Kopp (18carfan) at Superior Chevrolet. Excellent service and prices.

I don't know how much the gain is, but with the stock LT1 heads and the LT4 HOT cam and valvetrain, I dyno'ed 320 rwhp 330/rwtq on my '94 'vette. The only other changes I had was Borla mufflers (mufflers only, not cat-back) and one of those inverted cold air boxes. I would believe the LT4 heads would give a bump of 10 - 20 rwhp which would get you to the 400 hp mark.
