Default Crate motor question

Need info on a 350 long block crate motor with casting number 10066036. It is a Made in Mexico block. The numbers stamped on the deck are 1M0625. Do the numbers on the deck contain any information about the long block?

I'm no expert on blocks but I believe that the made in Mexico block crate engines are GM's basic "generic use" engines. Very reasonable priced ($1300) long block, 4 bolt mains, cast low compression pistons (8.5?), non-vortec heads, mild cam. It's marketed as a low cost replacement engine for passenger cars and light trucks. Several forum members have them are are happy with them. One of the mags did a performance build up on one a couple years ago and had excellent results after replacing the right parts.

Casting number 10066036 is '94 year block with 4-bolt mains. A stamped number next to the cars VIN stamped on pad in front of passenger side cylinder head should be the factory that assembled and date of manfacture. But 1M0625 doesn't sound correct or maybe a number stamped in a different location. :nonod:

I just bought a partial block from Gm and yes it was made in Mexico and yes it has different numbers as it was not made for any specific car therefore no numbers resembling a car serial number.
