Default GS-C Tires From A 2002 Trans Am Worth Anything?

These are the OEM tires on my 2002 garage queen Trans Am with ~ 4000 miles.

Been thinking of either selling the car or driving it more. If I chose to drive it more, Im worried about the tires being safe for anything other than about town seeing that they are ~ 13 years old and will replace them.

The question is should I just abandon these tires at the dealer or should I go through the hassle of getting them home hoping to make a few dollars.

Any thoughts appreciated.

In my opinion, they are worth something; however, not for driving on. These would be perfect tires for a person with a very low mileage, original car that plans to use it for future car shows/judging. These OEM GSC's in good shape are extremely difficult to find.

The good news for you is that I think in the long run they are worth more that just a random "used" tire. You'll probably have to hold on to them longer though to find that person. Even though I am not in the market, if you are just looking to get rid of them, I would take them off your hands for the right price.

Hope that helps

Once the tires start to show cracks, they become worthless. How you store them makes a huge difference.

P.S some of us "collectors" have been in communications with Goodyear, in hopes that they will either reproduce tires like the GSC's and the Gatorbacks, or at least release the license to some other entity willing to produce them.

Thanks for the replies.

These tire look almost new, no cracks, ect. Always garage kept so out of sun which I think deteriorates the rubber much more quickly.

Afraid shipping would eat up most of what I would get for them.

I would be interested. What are you wanting to get out of them?

I'm in Indianapolis.

Thanks.

Are these tires still available? A manufacturer has FINALLY stepped up and will start making exact replicas of the gold cross lace Trans Am GTA wheels in 17 x 9. I currently still have 245-50-16 GSCs on my car and would LOVE to put your tires on my new 17 x 9 reproduction wheels when they arrive.

Nevermind...
For some reason I assumed your car was a WS6 model with the 17 inch wheels. I now see that you have the standard Trans Am with 16 inch wheels.

Procrastinator that I am, I still havent done anything about either selling my car OR getting new tires. Ill monitor this thread and contact people interested in the tires when I do.

Yeah, Carlos, mine are 245/50zr16s. Love your car. Had the honeycombs on my 78, great design but not so easy to keep clean. Well, what wheels are?

I replied a while back. I'm interested.

What do you want for all 4?
