Gen 6 1LE vs ZL1 vs Z28
Whats the difference between them?
I know the 1LE in an entry level track car with either a V6 or V8 and either FE3 or FE4 suspension depending on trim level.
What the difference between a ZL1 and Z28? I know they'll have different engines and transmissions and suspension spec etc. Looks like both are intended to be track cars.
Why 2 different models that are close in price and will perform relatively close together?
Between the Camaro and Corvette GM will have 5-1/2 track cars from $35K to $80k 1LEV6, 1LEV8, ZL1, Z28, Grand Sport, Z06

The ZL1 is an old man cruiser type of car. Mag shocks, big hp, all the creature comforts, big smokey burnouts.
The Z28 is a stripped down track car. No AC, ridiculous grip, more limited production and as close to a race car as GM will sell you (and probably as close as the feds will let you buy).
The Z28 is the only true track car of the ones you listed. The 1LE is a suspension package that takes the soft ****** suspension out. The C7 models aren't track cars either, the C7Z is a supercharged overheating boulevard cruiser. The C7GS is a non supercharged cruiser with a widebody.

I'm considering the ZL1 (guess that makes me an " old man" BUT happy to wait - not paying markups. I know better - look at the C7Z prices dropping like bombs when so many on the C7Z forum said it wouldn't. Who's crying now.

I am selling the C7 for reasons and shopping the "lowly" Camaro as well ... as a previous ZL1 owner, I am curious to buy a 1LE or a Z28 next as well. I can't decide. The ZL1 was roudy and stupid fun all the time any time, kinda like a big hammer that smashes its way through fun stuff with ease.
