I was looking at getting a retrofit rear disc brake conversion kit (from Stainless Steel Brake Corp) for my wife's Jeep CJ7 to replace those lousy old drums. The "gee-whiz" factor alone should get me some brownie points. She loves it when I tweak da Jeep. :cool:
On the practical side, I figure if she stops 30% faster, like they claim, she might avoid hitting something and thus I might avoid doing bodywork again. :lol: :lol:

Both of our b-day's are in Dec, so we got each other somthin'. I got my blasting cabinet, and my new Craftsman roll around chest. She got a new house in June, so we both got an early Christmas. :cheers: :cheers:

My wife, when asked, normally gives me either "Surprise me!" or "Oh, don't get me anything- the holidays are for the kids." which really doesn't help matters:mad. When you spend some time and thought to get something original, it's appreciated but to find the time (let alone the imagination) can be burdensome. A couple years ago, I went all out ;) and had my wife's gift hidden in the house. I put a card under the tree with the first clue (a hand written rhyming note) and spread other clues throughout the house so her present was at the end of a treasure hunt. The kids and the wife loved it. This year, with moving and new duties, time is at a premium so things won't likely be as fancy.

I have one rule that has never let me down: NEVER buy a woman anything she needs. Think about it.
My wife is into the VH1 programs like Behind the Music - this year I got her a guitar autographed by Rod Stewart. Last year it was a diamond and the year before that BeeGees stuff. She didn't 'need' any of these gifts, but she loved them.
