I was thinking of buying period correct tires for my 62 . It is a later production car around may 62. I understand there were 4 different 6.70x15 tires availiable for this year . my question is , which one did GM use late in the prouduction year ? Any help would be appreciated .

'62 tires were 4 ply rayon. Blackwalls were standard and whitewalls were an option. The whitewalls were from 7/8" to 1 1/16", five tire brands were available for 62, US Royal, BF Goodrich, Firestone, Goodyear & General. These tires are still available. Tire size was 6.70 x15. As far as I know, tires were mounted on the units from whatever manufacture's inventory was available.
