1) To meet a group of people that share similar interests in a certain type of vehicle.
2) If they love their car, they'll love talking about it.
There are more, but that is just off the top of my head.

definitely the easiest way to meet up with the gang is just going to a lunch and introducing yourself. You'll quickly find out how easy going and great group of people corvette forum owners are. No special requirements, no fees to join or to be part of, no minimum meeting requirements and the get togethers are fun. Just show up and talk cars and whatever else. Don't believe what others will tell you, the Michigan crew is alright and not as bad as they may seem

How - just go to a few shows and ask around about Corvette Clubs in your area. Then just find out who you need to contact to join.
Why - meet some really nice people that have a passion for the car like you do, get involved in some community events, social events to attend, etc.

I just love the casual atmosphere which is why I'm not a member of a club. Great people on this board

Club $$$$$
Many clubs have year end parties and other events where the club picks up most of the cost.
I am a member of N.R.L. and we have yearly club events paid 100% by the club a picnic, 2 Covette Parades with free lunch. We also have a Christmas party that is partially paid by the club.
Most clubs are not for profit and donate substanially to various charties with the profits.
This year NCCC will Raffle a 2008 Corvette. Drawing will be June 27, 2008.
100% of proceeds donated to THE NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION.
Part of membership fees cover the cost of a club jacket, shirt, NCCC rule book, decals, monthly paper, NCCC magazine and other benifits.
Most clubs have a casual atmosphere, however there are politics. But you will find that anywhere even here.
You can do a web search through N.C.C.C. and find several clubs in your area to chose from.
There are over 280 clubs in the U.S. with almost 19,000 members. Try there meetings/ events and I you want join the club you like.

First off West Mich. crew is not a club We do not have dues, there is nothing to join, and best of all no RULES We are just a group of people that met on the forum and enjoyed the people and cars. We like to keep things very casual and friendly. We keep getting bigger and better all the time so we must be doing something right If you are looking for a club there are a lot of them out there to join.
