Best way to get to Indy from 69
Going to Indy for the time trials on Saturday. Anyone from the Indianapolis area able to tell me the best route to take coming in from route 69? Google has me coming in on Binford Blvd. through town. Is that the best way to go or should I loop around on 465 and come in on Crawfordsville Rd.?

When you come in on I 69 you will want to go West on 465 to the Crawfordsville - Speedway exit. That would be your best if you are not up on all the side streets in the city to take.

Have lived in Indy my whole life and live just off I69 and SR238.
A lot of it depends on trafic. I know some back roads in like down Guion Road but you would need a native guide for that. I would not go down Binford. That takes you right through the middle of town.
I would just knukle it out and go arround 465 get off on 38th street most people will be getting off on the road that turns into 16th street further south. Head east to georgetown then south then turn east on 30th. Park north of the track in the 30th street parking lot. That will leave you parking between 3 and 4 on the north end of the track. The south end of the track is 16th street.
You will have a bit of a hike to the paddock area which is under cover and just across from the pits. Howver you could just walk to turn 4 which will be to your right as you face the track,, and find a seat in the stands there. that is a pretty good spot. You will see them come out of 3 through 4 and down the front straight into 1. Seats for time trials are not as critical as the race.
I would reccomend a cooler on rollers or a backpack set up. I use a backpack frame and a 2 dollar styrofome cooler. Put the cooler on the backpack frame put just disposible stuff in it. Pack it into the track and just leave the cooler there after the trials and walk out with your frame. Pair of Binos add to the day also..

If you go thru Bindord Blvd you will probblay take the same time that you would to go around the loop.
You could go I-69 then South on 465 loop off of I-69 and go down the east side of the 465 loop to I-70, this will take you past the new stadium, get off at Holt Road and go North on Holt Road @ 2 miles and you will dead end at the track

You might want to try Brad's Brass Flamingo on the east side of town. Oh wait, you're taking about Interstate 69...

The route with the fewest amount of turns is: 69 to 465 west to 136 (Crawfordsville Rd) west. Stay on that until you reach the track.
