Weather permitting, this Saturday, Johnnyvettes and I are blasting up to Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove WI, for the late Saturday afternoon and evening, for the Wild Drag Racing Event called the Nitrous Street Car Brawl, featuring the Chicago Wise Guys, in their high 6 second and low 7 seconds WILD Race Cars, and many other very cool super fast cars (old, nostalgics and new).

Johnny and I will be landing at Da Grove by 5 pm and if anyone wants to hook up with us shout out here and we will meet up there, etc. The N20 Street Car Brawl is always a great time, and will be going from 4 pm to 9 pm. If you guys are into some hardcore drag racing action and have not seen a show like this in a long time, you should consider mixing things up and seeing a WILD and CRAZY show, think 6.7s in the 1/4 mile at 210 mph!

I have a wedding that night, but I always try and hit the track the next day after an event like this, because the traction is much better than normal.

We were going to take my Vette or Challenger, and the Challenger back seat as you know is pretty clausterphobic. I'll follow-up with you bro so we can figure something out to get you there! You know how the back seats are with the huge b piller and all, but your skinny enough where if it don't bother you can sit in the back of the Challenger (we can meet you at the O'Hare Oasis)

Randy (RWH) would be GREAT to see you at this wild and crazy ballz out drag racing event, and hopefully the weather holds out for us bro!

Yes Pete, you are a drag racer and that certainly is an old drag racer's trick to optimize traction (ESPECIALLY) after the big guns run in Rt 66 (talk about sticking like glue)!

Wheather man has been wrong A LOT this summer and of course whether we go will be what the doppler looks like and the projected forecast. Was suppose to rain on Weds. to and not a drop came.


The event starts at 5pm until 10:30 pm., so based on what the doppler radar shows, and the projected forecast, we will have a good idea it we think its worth blasting up there by 5 or even a little later (6pm) if the weather dictates it. I think we are going to be good to go but only time will tell.


Bob, if I don't hear from you otherwise I will assume the crowded back seat of the Challenger with the mini windows in back you like so much, (NOT), will be your excuse to wimp out!

As I predicted all the weather forecasts were WRONG about rain in Union Grove, WI, and Chicago area, for this afternoon and evening, and the RACING EVENT is a go, sun is currently shining in WI and West burb of Chicago as of 2:15 pm

Johnny and I are blasting up to the Grove from my home at 3:30 p.m., and hooking up with some other close friends of mine!

Everyone enjoy your evening cruise nights and your vettes, families, social engagements, etc., and for anyone on the fence about this event you should go as it's a BLAST and you won't be disappointed!!!

We had a blast and the turnout of cars racing was huge!

Had a few short tinkle rain delays, but nothing serious (very short delays), and saw every car run about 2 times (out of at least 100 cars running).

What time did it rain in the western burbs of Chi-Town?

The track was prepped well and the big dawgs were hooking up very well, so tommorrow would be a perfect day to get new best in your ZR1 like you discussed earlier in this thread, (a TON of rubber layed down on that track also tonight)!

I was up there most weekend from the late 60s to the late 70s . the grove was the place to be !
