Chevrolet Grand Prix Street Festival May 29

To help launch the 2013 Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix race officials are proud to host the Chevrolet Grand Prix Street Festival presented by Quicken Loans, a complete celebration of the Grand Prix. On Wednesday, May 29 from 11 am – 2 pm, the popular Campus Martius Park and Cadillac Square area in downtown Detroit will come alive with the sights and sounds of the Grand Prix. The festivities begin with a transporter parade down Woodward Avenue featuring all three racing series and some of the top teams competing at the Grand Prix. After the parade, which will drive right by Campus Martius Park, the Street Fest will feature a question and answer session on stage with GRAND-AM Rolex Series drivers Enzo Potolicchio, Stephane Sarrazin, and Burt and Brian Frisselle followed by autograph sessions with the GRAND-AM and IZOD IndyCar Series drivers. The 8Star Motorsports Corvette DP will be on display and will conduct several pit stop demonstrations. Included in the Street Fest will be numerous local food trucks parked around Campus Martius and displays featuring official event merchandise. The Street Fest will be a great event to build the excitement for the Chevrolet GRAND-AM 200 presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers.
On race day, June 1, the GRAND-AM drivers will be available for autographs at 10:00 to 10:45 am in the Meijer Family Fun Zone near the GM display and fans can participate in the GRAND-AM Fan Walk on pit road at 11:30 am. Then the Chevrolet GRAND-AM 200 presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers starts at 12:25 pm on Belle Isle. The Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix will also include off-track entertainment. The Meijer Family Fun Zone has been expanded with the new track layout at Belle Isle. Included in the Fun Zone is the new Quicken Loans Go-Kart track for fans to do a little racing of their own. The MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage will also be rocking every day with Detroit R&B artist Dwele headlining on Friday night; Bret Michaels of Poison on Saturday night and the Plain White T's will perform a matinee show on Sunday.
