I have been looking over the many motel possibilities in Gatlinburg,Tenn. I was wondering if those interested in going would prefer a low frills, med frill ,or high frills type of motel. I have been looking at places on River road, which is a block off the main road In Gatlinburg. Just for info I am looking close to walking distance to everything in Gatlinburg, also they have a trolly running too if you would rather ride around too. The trolley also will take you to Pigeon Forge if your interested in going there, you would jump on the Pigeon Forge trolly to get around there.

I am looking to see about booking a group of rooms to see if there might be a better group deal for us. If you have any motel idea's or anything else you might want to do , you can post it here or PM me if you want.

Looking forward to the trip and hope we can get a good group going.

Oh I know who they are very well. I will keep it on the downlow. I am looking forward to this trip so much. By the time we go it will be about 2 yrs since I had any kind of fun vacation time. Hope we get a good group heading down.

I have definatly set the dates for the trip to the Dragon as leaving Wed Oct 8 and returning Sunday Oct 12. I plan on leaving around 4 0r 5 am from Grand Rapids, Mi. For those going from other places you can either head down yourself or meet up with us somewhere on the way, I can let you know the route we will be taking from GR.

I will probably take the whole week off so if anybody wants to go early let me know. Trust me there is more than enough to do and see for a whole week

I have even thought about just doing 8 hrs tueday and heading out Tuesday night and driving straight through. but we will see how things go.

Need to plan a lunch meeting some Saturday and start getting some reservations done and preliminary plans going too.

Dad, Look into Quality Inn Creekside in Gatlinburg. Its pretty close to the middle of town. I stayed there 2 years ago. the last couple years I went down there in early October I started looking for rooms in April and had trouble getting one booked. October is really popular down there so we need to decide soon!

I think I am going to choose a motel so we can reserve some rooms for the trip. I know I can get a hold of the local people here in west Michigan area, but those elsewhere I was wondering of those outside GR area might have Skype, we can set something up.

I have decided on staying at this motel in Gatlinburg. It is just off main st and a little quieter than a main st. motel. I have not made any reservations yet, still waiting for a rate. Let me know what you think. Here is the link.
