Chelsea parking, I commute thru this town every day and there are two parking areas off Main Street that could handle our car numbers, both along the railway tracks. If the grill is selected, I can post up a flyover photo map with these parking areas "boxed in color" to include the grill location. Let me know Sue,

Kevin
There is a show that day at 3:00 pm. We are currently arriving at 12:45. When I called to make reservations for our group of 40 they did not indicate that they could not accommodate us.

I'm thinking in order to avoid the rush hour before show time, we can change our departure from 11:30 am to 10:45 am. It takes 1:15 to get to Chelsea, which would put us in town at noon which is 3 hours before show time and well before the rush of people for the 3:00 show. I also think that this will allow us to park as a group in the parking areas in back of the restaurants.

Send me the link to the parking maps and I'll print them out.

Lastly, thanks for the link to the British guy on YouTube that explains how to export Google maps to my Garvin Nuvi. Quite a laborious process, I'm hoping it works.

Updates added!

And we have a FIRST! Ding, ding! Little Greg is now our youngest cruiser! Can't start them early enough.

Right now, they are predicting a high of 72 mostly sunny and 0% chance of rain! Woo Hoo! And if Steve and Linda (inthehunt2) decide to come, Steve can actually get away with wearing his shorts!

The colors are just starting to happen, maybe we will be able to cruise through some nice scenic areas!

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Hey Sue, parking areas we can keep all the cars together that are a very short walk to the Grill.

I did a dry run yesterday to make sure that as suggested in a previous post that Willis Road isn't a wreck due to the bad winter weather. It is quite bumpy and we'll be avoiding that road as much as possible. So, thanks for the heads up.

And...thanks for the parking suggestions Kev!

If I'm reading your Google Earth map right, the first parking lot on the west side of the street as you head north into town you are suggesting is the Parker Ford dealership? Will there be a problem parking in a business parking lot? I was eyeballing this lot to park in because it's so massively big.

Lastly, list updated....and weather is going to be spectacular!

Don't forget to meet in our usual spot at the cider mill for a group photo....

Hey Sue. the Parker Ford Dealership no longer exisits, it is now a public parking area jwhich is just south of the Grill on the west side of (M52). sugest this be the primary parking. FYI, sent you e-mails this morning.

If you can send me the route map links, I can work the GPS angle.

This will be our designated parking area then.

As far as sending you links for a pre-planned route I can't do that because when I put directions into either MapQuest or Google Maps, it gives me their directions as opposed to the personalized route that I want to take myself. It will not allow me to create a personal map or personal trip.

I can send you that personalized route if you have a paid account for MapQuest or Google Maps that allows you this option?

I also contacted the Saline PD to confirm that Ann Arbor Street between Henry Road and M12 will be closed for the Octoberfest. I have worked out a route to get around that closure.

Lastly, instead of making this thread our personal message board, PM me your cell number so I can text you.

Man, what a pain the butt this trip is turning out to be.

Everyone: please note the new departure time of 10:30 am!

I have updated the thread at the beginning with the new information as well.

I spoke with the owner of the Common Grill yesterday to give him an update in numbers as asking him if a 12:45 pm reservation was the best time for our group to be there. He recommended that we arrive at noon to avoid the crowd that would be arriving later that afternoon to attend the 3:00 show at the Purple Rose Theatre.

George: if you could please update your CTS-V group with this information, I would greatly appreciate it!

Maps will be available for you to access on line soon! Kevin is going to do his magical GPS thingy so you can upload them to your GPS.

And for those that are "technically challenged" I will have paper copies for anyone that would like them.

Weather is supposed to spectacularly perfect on Saturday in the mid 70's, low humidity and sunny!

Can't wait to meet and see all of you soon!

Here is a link to Google Maps that gets you from the starting point of 32044 Huron River Drive (Huron Valley High School) to the Common Grill in Chelsea.

Note that it will jog you around the Octoberfest in Saline. (Ann Arbor Street will be blocked off between Henry and M 12)

https://goo.gl/maps/rze4Q

I will post the second map that gets you from the Common Grill to the Dexter Cider Mill.

Kev: do your GPS thingy for anyone that wants to download the link.

Here is the second map that will get you from the Common Grill to the Dexter Cider Mill.

Please remember that when we leave the restaurant, I will be stopping along Railroad Street (it's a one way street with little to no traffic) to wait for everyone to assemble and continue on to the cider mill.
