All these prices under a dollar! Lol

Gas was around 1.70 when I started driving, and its almost dropped that low again in the past month! I got my license in 2002

In 1972 I was taking my 1972 Honda 350 Scrambler around the country and stopped in Texas to get gas. The tank held about 2 1/2 gallons. I filled up the tank, gave the attendant a quarter and got change back. 9.9 cents/gallon!

They were having a gas war in Texas. Regular gas back then was 25.9 cents a gallon. Most people don't realize that oil prices were regulated back then. The price per barrel was $1.60 or .65 a barrel. When the Arab oil embargo occurred in 1973 or 4, the price of oil was deregulated and allowed to float.
