This is interesting. I'm an OH resident in the process of getting his CCW license and it was only recently that I was told how anti-gun the IL state laws were. Doesn't make any sense to me, given the geographical location smack dab in the middle of the relatively conservative midwest--a relative hotbed for gun rights--but I was told that it's the Chicago area that has pushed for the legislation.
What sort of political climate led to the restrictive ownership and carry laws in IL? Not trying to stir up a s--t storm, just curious….
