Official count down to spring thread & breaking out your vette or other bad azz cars!
Just 40 days away now until the first official day of spring, Friday, March 20, 2015, and that means only about 40 days to officially breaking out your vette, or other bad azz sport car or muscle car, and 52 days away from the true end of winter (April 1st)!

The way the winter has gone here, hopefully it won't be even 40 more days. Been a mild winter so far in terms of temps and snowfall.

April 1st my toys have historically come out fairly consistently last 15 years (with a few exceptions) and only maybe only a few minimal snow events for me at least historically. I have April 1 ingrained in my mind for the last 15 years as my fun cars coming out and that has been very consistent. If there is a now event in April usually its for one day, one to two inches, and melted the following day or two then followed by some rain to wash the streets.
Now calendar spring of March 20th, I don't think I will be firing up my 67 Camaro b/c of salt still on the street, and possibility of winter weather, but it still is calendar spring (March 20th) and driving the fun cars is coming up now sooner than later.
Roads are clear enough with hardly any snow events April 1st for me the last 15 years (at least where I live) where my Vettes or Viper over the years have been out problem fee. Looking forward to seeing your 66 Vette all done up this season buddy, I Hope you go with the modern paint job, since you have a modern power/drivetrain and that clear coat modern paint looks WAY better!

At least you guys have the memories of good weather with your fun cars. I just bought my 73 two weeks ago. Prior to that the only time I've ever been behind the wheel of a Corvette was about 1980 when I got to drive my mother's boyfriend's BB C3 for a few minutes. About 35 years later the next time I got to drive one, she was mine. Now I have to sit and see her waiting in the garage for appropriate weather to begin making my own memories.
