Default Come Out and Drive a Stingray at Stasek Chevrolet!

Hey All -

We are having an event this Saturday with food, fun, and of course fast cars. If your in the market or out of the market we would still like to invite you out to take a spin. We know there are dealers out there who take issue with test drives on Corvettes but we feel you should try before you buy! Please PM me or give me a call if you have any questions but we hope to see you there!

That's awesome, I might swing by for a bit. Will you have any C7 Z61 6MT available for a test drive?

We will have a C7 Z51 with a manual trans to drive, both that and a non Z auto.

Hope to see you there!

We'll be doing 2 initially, but if the waiting list starts to stretch we'll add in a few more, we'll make sure it's smooth sailing all day.

Unfortunately any Z's on the ground at our dealer are already sold, so no Z06 test drives tomorrow, but we'll have plenty of fun with some stingrays.

What a complete waste of my time and fuel!

Last year you put your name on a list (in the store), waited your turn and drove the Stingray around the block.

This year you put your name on a list, (for no reason) waited for a random seat in a van to be taken off-site, no thanks.
Further proof why Corvette should be sold exclusively at Cadillac dealerships.

I wanted to visit my former Z06 on the used car lot and see a ZR1 that I had made a previous offer on (before they raised the price $5K for spring).

I asked Bob Stasek (who closed the deal on my current GS) if I could drive over there by myself and was told "just get on the shuttle, there's no parking over there".

Time to find a new dealership me thinks...

I wouldn't know as I had no desire to get on the bus. Took a nice long ride home in my obsolete C6 instead.

Did they make you an offer on your R8?

Lucky you left when you did....Maybe why I did not see you there. My wifey and I went to the remote location...This was a fiasco.

Initially went to the dealership. There were no signs posted or anything. We just wandered around; even asked the salesman who had no knowlege of the event. Finally located a lady sitting at a table. Took down our name and pointed to the shuttle van.

We went to the remote location. OMG, there were around 200 people there. Again no signs or directions. Again wandered up to a table and found out you had to be put on this list. the list from the dealership does not get sent over to the remote location. If you did not know any better, you would have waited for your name to be called in vane. I saw a woman complain that she was there for close to 2 hrs and found out she was not on the remote location's list!

They were only running a few cars. With such a great turn out, they should have just had the people driver around the block. If they wanted a longer run, they could set up an appointment for later in the week. Instead, they stuck to their usual course which ran around 10minutes. Quick math told me I would have waited all day.

As for food, they had cold hotdogs and ran out of drinks. They did make a quick run to sams club and got burgers; but still no drinks. Oh well, we left without driving a C7; and we were a potential customer.

I admire Stasek for putting on the event; but better planning would have made it a better experience.

We drove over six hours to check out the event, and the new Corvette specific auxiliary building after a brief visit to the dealership.

We were promptly greeted at the dealership, and soon after our arrival Bob Stasek told us where the Corvette building was and offered the shuttle ride.

Upon arrival, we found an awesome selection of Corvettes, new and pre-owned, including an absolutely gorgeous 2003 Anniversary convert with a 6-speed and under 300 miles and several ZR1's.

There were four Corvettes being offered up for driving (possibly more) both hardtop and convertible, and both automatic and manual, and people were steadily going for test drives. Spoke to Corvette Specialist Bob Clegg, who pointed out several of the new for '15 features and then spoke to Bill Stasek himself, who insisted we eat and have a soda. The burgers were great and there was no shortage of food or refreshments.

We spoke to several people who had made deals on the spot, and it appeared that everyone was having a great time. The selection of pre-owned Corvettes, which were on display inside, was nicely presented and the building looked great.

If you didn't have a good time at this event, well, I don't know what to tell you.

Hats off to the Bill Stasek crew for hosting an awesome event, and we look forward to future events from this dealership, as they clearly get it!

I attended and had a positive experience. I was in one of the early groups of people shuttled to the off site test area. They started out using 2 cars but when they saw the crowd of attendees growing they brought in additional cars. When I took my test drive the salesman with me told me they had not expected such a large turnout. I did not mind the wait. While waiting my turn I had the opportunity to meet & talk to some great people. No sales pressure , just a great informative test drive.
Kudos to this dealer for providing multiple cars to test drive when most dealers would not let you even test drive before purchasing. Could it have been better, sure, but I think they will do some things different in the future to keep from disappointing some people.
Test drove a 2LT convertible and nothing but positive things to say about the C7..
I will be looking to trade my C6 convertible on one in the future.
