Do you wait until the road salt is washed away from the roadways?

Back in the day yes I'd wait, Now not so much..... We have such long cold winters, any chance I have to drive I do As long as the roads are clear and dry I'll take the GS out, ZR is grounded due to tires and cold.
Even after a rain there is a bunch of road grit so just be careful and enjoy

What kills me is that when you go to trade in or sell you sweet Red GS C6 Roadster someday, its NOT going to impact the value by 1 penny, that your corvette has seen a little salt powder over the road that you may have driven through, when the roads where otherwise clear and dry. ESPECIALLY a dealership, they look at the mileage of your car, a quick glance at the overall condition of the car, you haggle back and forth about trade in value (towards you future C7 Z06 Roadster), then your off on you way in your new C7 Z droptop.
These guys that treat a $30,000 to $85,000 car, which drops in value monthly, like its a Picasso piece of art work worth $5,000,000, or a collectible, mint, 1967 435 HP Corvette Roadster that appreciates ever month, that are afraid of a little dust or minimal rock chip on the front end who only drive 1000 miles a year just kill me, as they are only saving up their baby for the next guy to enjoy! A car that is a depreciating asset, vette or otherwise, was made to be driven and enjoyed, and not to be a garage queen (but to each their own).

I've had my car 15 years and I've always waited until we've had 4 or 5 heavy rains before I take it out of storage and bring it home. I'm not about to change the way I do things now. I didn't take it out of storage until the first week in May last year.

Rain wash
I took mine out for the first time middle of last week. I wait for at least 2 good rains to not only wash away the salt but also all the other crap on the road. I don't drive it in the rain as I don't like how it gets dirty in all the crevasses. My cars a little above average as far as condition. I dust it, wipe it down, clean the glass and wheels each time I drive it. I put an average of 1800 miles a year in the last 4 years.

nope
Get your glasses out I said 1,800 per yr in the last 4 years. The original owner I bought it from put 32K on it. I've had it going on 4 summers now. And to each his own. I don't consider it a waste, I enjoy it but I need to drive my truck to work most every day.

I did indeed misread it, sorry. And I get that everyone buys these cars for different reasons. But I stand by my position that the point of a sports car is its driving performance, and every mile you don't drive it is a lost opportunity.

Per car or per collection? I average 250 per year on the Corvette's. I also spread out the fun car time among 2 Trailblazer SS's, a Z28 & Mustang GT.
