Michigan Drivers - Mark Your Calendars 5/5 - Get out and vote on Prop 1
Reminder to get out and vote on 5/5.
Prop 1 details: http://www.mackinac.org/20974
This is an enormous tax hike, supposedly to fix roads, however, a large chunk of the funds would be used for welfare, schools, subsidies to Detroit, etc.
Anyone remember Proposal A? That's when we agreed to increase the sales tax from 4 to 6% under the promise that property taxes would be reduced. So how did that work out? We now have high property taxes and a 6% sales tax, along with a near 4% income tax.
The state budget is roughly 40 billion. We are being told that the bridges will fall on our heads if we don't agree to another 1 or 1.5 billion. Out of 40 billion I think they can find 1 or 1.5. It's called setting priorities.
