JUST A REMINDER
The 3rd Annual Corvettes on the D will be this Sunday June 28 at the GM Parking lot by the Ren Cen, located at Atwater and Beaubien on the river.

This year Corvettes in the D presents Vettes for Vets. Proceeds from this event will benefit local veterans group Veterans Outreach Project of SE Michigan and Operation Care Package Michigan. We will also be collecting items to stuff the care packages that are sent to our servicemen and women currently serving overseas.

Besides the cash donation for Operation Care Package we will also be collecting things to stuff in the boxes. Here is a wish list of requested items that are hard to come by in the field. Some of you Veterans will understand this request.
Baby wipes, bar soap, batteries, bug spray(non-aerosol), chap stick, cough drops, dental floss, disposable razors, envelopes, paper and pens, cereal bars, Excedrin, Tylenol, Advil, Motrin, eye drops, foot powder, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, Kleenex (pocket size), Q-tips, mouthwash, saline nose spray, shampoo and conditioner, shaving cream, sun screen, toilet paper, toothpaste, tooth picks, travel games, Tums, Zip Lock Bags (all sizes), Greeting cards (any occasion) Beef Jerky, cookies, crackers, hard candy, gum, cereal (small boxes) instant coffee, tea bags, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, pop tarts, any individual wrapped snacks, DVDs (new or old) and games.

This year’s feature Corvette is the Z06. There will be 7 special Corvettes on display, each with a unique story, like the one with 250,000 mile on it with the original engine.

Harlan Charles will be in the GM Tent with a couple of Corvettes.

Paul Koerner, the Corvette Mechanic is returning along with Brittany George.

Katech is bringing their upgraded Z06. Lingenfelter will too.

The 50/50 raffle will have many additional prizes like books, gift certificates, magazine subscriptions, die cast cars, man cave items, and Corvette hats. Goodie bags to first 300 cars. T-shirts will be for sale with this year’s logo.

Thanks to everyone that attended this year's Corvettes in the D. The seven display Z06s covered a wide range from the youngest owner 23 to the high mileage Z06 with 250,000 miles on the originally engine. Paul Koerner the Corvette Mechanic and Brittany were busy in the lot checking out cars and helping people with their problems. Good weather finished the day and we were able to make good donations to the Veterans Group and Operation Care Package Michigan, that supports those currently serving overseas.

Next year the Grand Sport will be the Highlight Corvette. Do you have one that you would want on display and have written up in the event Book? Contact me.

Don't forget Corvettes on Woodward is coming up quick. I am looking for a C1, C2, C3, C5, C6 and C7 for a special Generations Display. Wednesday August 12, 2015 Kingsley Hotel Bloomfield Hills Michigan.
