2016 corvettes on woodward moving

Dear Corvette Friends,
I hope this note finds you doing well and gearing up for another great season of cruising in our Corvettes. Many of you have asked what our plans are for CORVETTES on WOODWARD this year. After many years at the Kingsley Inn, I am very excited to announce that our beginning event (on Wednesday August 17, 2016) will be moving a few miles up the road to M1 Concourse in Pontiac (www.m1concourse.com). In case you have not heard about M1 Concourse, it is an 87 acre playground for auto enthusiasts right on Woodward that includes a secure community of 250+ Private Garages and a state of the art 1.5 mile Performance Track with its own private Motorsports Club. The property was formerly a General Motors factory for 100 years!
M1 is going to be the largest facility of its kind in the world and they have already sold over 125 of the Private Garages. This will be the place to be during Dream Cruise. The owners have welcomed us with open arms and the facility can accommodate many more Corvettes than we have ever had before. Plus, they have a big tent to provide shade and food will be available. The coolest part is we will all have the opportunity to drive on the 1.5 mile Champion Motor Speedway on the way out of the facility in the evening. We will also drive the loop around downtown Pontiac with a police escort.
Corvettes on Woodward will continue to support the Open Hands Food Pantry and we may consider additional local charities to help. Please remember to bring your Food Donation and a $10 donation. All proceeds go to the Open Hands Food Pantry.
There will be a CORVETTE GENERATIONS DISPLAY and a Souvenir Book again this year. Display Corvettes will be chosen in June. You will be receiving details of tours and addresses for the three day event in future emails.
Additionally, we plan to do an American Flag formation of cars for a great media opportunity and aerial photo. If you own a Red, White or Blue Corvette make sure I have your contact information so we can contact you in advance.
Verna and I are really excited about this move and look forward to seeing you there. So, tell all of your Corvette friends that this year is going to be bigger and better.
This is turning out to be a year of changes. If you are on Facebook or the Corvette Forum or read the Corvette Blogger you know that CORVETTES IN THE “D”, Vettes for Vets is cancelled. I need to find a new location and possibly a different weekend. I will be writing to all of you at a later date about that.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Larry Courtney

Now I'm even more sad that my 68 race car won't be finished this summer. Would be a fun event to bring it out to. Hopefully my 75 will be in good shape for the event.

Great news Larry. We are having our 3BallsRacing charity open track event to support Karmanos at M1 on the Saturday before so they're definitely going to be hosting some fun events this summer.

I have a lot of interest in participating in the FLAG. More than half way there. I do owe my inspiration for this to Lance Miller and Corvettes at Carlisle. I never had the room to do it before this year. My Corvette's name is American Pride. If you see my Corvette you will understand. I cannot think of a better combination than Corvette and the American Flag.

I think this is going to be a great place for everyone to go for all kinds of events. I am hoping to get 1000 Corvettes this year. How do people sign up for your event?
