JE forged aluminum pistons for LS1 (part number 194881-8) real world price is $795 with less than 1000 miles on them. They have some scuffing on the skirts but can be coated. You can't even feel it with your finger nail. Only one piston would need to be scotch brighted. For example... LoKo Performance Coatings in Oak Lawn, Illinois can do them for $22 per piston for the skirts, $19 per piston for the domes, or $38 per piston to have it completely coated. This will give you an idea of what you would be looking at to reuse the pistons. Honestly... just coating the skirts would be all that you would need to do to have a nice set of pistons for a great price. I'll include all of the rings and wrist pins. It's up to you if you would want to reuse the rings or purchase a new set.
