Roads are fairly salt free and dry now and put over well over 100 miles since Monday on my 2016 Mustang GT. Felt great getting away from my winter beater and rowing the gears and hearing that 5.0 engine sing.

Thanks to the last gasp of what turned out to be an an easy end (after a rough start) of December my 2016 Mustang GT 5.0 with its manual tranny and 3.73 factory gears have hit the streets since last weekend!
If the forecast holds out the ACR will be out for the holiday weekend heading into the January and the New Year.

Only some private parking lots are still salted up no big deal wish it would stay this way the rest of winter it would help make it fly by (but we know that's not going to happen unfortunately).
Actually, its my opinion that the Roads and Highways right now are way cleaner than they are in summer (construction season) when there is nothing but dirt, limestone, tar, grit, ROCKS, flying all around and getting your car all messed up!

Any salt that may have been put down yesterday with that minor dusting of snow definitely got washed (and blown away) today.
Now let's see what the rest of the week brings.

All it takes is just a tiny little dusting of snow and and a lil freezing rain to muck up the roads again (after 3 weeks of fairly clean roads).
It was FUN while it lasted. Hopefully the Mustang GT will be pressed into service sooner than later, but the Viper is back in full hibernation mode.
How many days now until April 1st?

Salt got washed up big time and streets will be good to go as long as no more salt is thrown down and once we dry out! Saturday looks perfect more rain scheduled some time during the day on Friday and Sunday, hopefully the fun cars will get to come out to play this weekend!

Now if it would only stop fcqkcing raining so we can have dry roads by the weekend that would be great!
On a positive night the roads are DEFINITELY salt free and clean and with Thursday night temps staying around 39 degrees again we should be good to go for the weekend as long as the roads are dry by then.

Think I'll take her out to the farms tomorrow.
Grand Ridge Rd from Mazon to Grand Ridge, 26 flat straight miles,
just me & the wind turbines.

How far from west suburbs to get there?
If the roads are totally dry the Viper ACR is coming out, if they are only mostly dry then then the 2016 Mustang GT 5.0 will come out to play.
Enjoy my friend be safe!

Update: Took a long time for streets to dry so I didn't get that far.
To get the 26 miles on Grand Ridge Road, I take the old Route 66
from Wilmington down to Gardner. Then head west and take Gorman Road
north to Grand Ridge Road. So I'm actually getting on GRR before Mazon.
Maybe tomorrow but I'll see how the fog is.
