intrest in Dragon Trip?
I know most of you have heard of the fires in the Smokies the last 2 days. I had been thinking heading down to the area next year sometime. So I am just gauging intrest in the trip. The Dragon will be the main highlight of the trip but there is so much more to do. Not sure what all will be open because of the fires , but we shall find out in comming months.
The time yet has yet not set in stone but maybe sometime in the early fall. Please chime in on your thoughts.
Thanks

If you really want to enjoy the Dragon, the Moonshiner, and the BRP, do it in August or September. If I don't go to Sturgis, every other year I'll ride my Harley down there the first week of August and it's pretty quiet.
While this Corvette rally thing is probably fun, plan on costs soaring, lodging availability being tough, and plenty of congestion. Nothing wrong with that, but it does get old after a while. That kind of stuff is fine around home, but the best way to enjoy that area and the fantastic driving and views is without staring at someone else's bumper the whole time.

I'm interested, it was a good time a couple of years ago. All indications are the Mountain House Motor Inn sustained only minor damage

As for interest I have some friends that haven't been yet. I'll let them know and maybe tag along with one of them since I sold my car.

Very little damage to the towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge themselves. The damage was all around the towns and on the outskirts. I will be going down over mem. weekend this year with the slingshot group staying in Maggie Valley.

Update on my plans, I will be going to Gatlinburg may 25th staying till the 30th. From there I will be going to Maggie Valley from the 30th to June 4th. Anybody is welcome to come join me anytime I would be happy to show you around. I will be staying at Marshall's rest inn motel the next street over from Mountain house as they were filled up at that time.
