cannot seem to get a membership after I signed up. I did not get an automted e-mail and was told to go to the help section. Any help is appreciated.

I have manually confirmed your account. But you need to check your email address in the UserCP under Edit Email Address and Password link to make sure you provided a correct email address. Google, your email provider, is very good about delivering our emails. So you either provided an incorrect email address or it may have been marked as Spam or something. In the latter case you need to log into their web-based interface to check that folder.
