Can you save a thread post somewhere
Pardon my technology ignorance but is there a way to save a post.
I have read several "how to " posts that I would like to keep for reference - can that be done?

There are a few ways:
- Links to a lot of the "HOW TO" topics are in the Stickys
- You can SUBSCRIBE to the thread and have access to it as long as the thread is on the server
- You can print the thread or post to your PC using a free utility such as WIN2PDF
I'm sure there are many more ways, but this will get you started

I copy the pertinent portions of a post, including the pics, to a Word file and then save it. Have gathered thousands of documents on the C5 and now on the C7 for future reference.

I use Microsoft OneNote. You can save part or all of a page from a post. You can have different folders and subfolders. It has a decent search function. It saves links to the original posts. Decent tool.

Thread Tools (drop-down menu is at the upper righthand corner of the first post) ---> Subscribe To This Thread
you can then access the threads you've subscribed to from your "User CP" located at the upper lefthand corner of the forum screen.

All my email files (different ones like Verizon, mail, etc.) have potential for creating file folders w. names. I do that, such as, "C7-Splashguards" and then copy a post, an entire thread url, and the date into an email to myself for that file folder. Then, I file it under that folder. I've got literally dozens of posts, threads, etc. that are my technical, go-to resource library. Works for me.

To save one specific post, point the cursor arrow to the post # in the upper right of the post window, right click, then "Bookmark This Link".

If you use the Opera browser there is a 'notes' section where anything you highlight will go there easily...I like that feature because you can save the pertinent portion of a long paragraph easily. The Word suggestion above probably does the same thing.
