I get an email every time there is a response to a thread. Besides selecting it on the individual post, is there a way to automatically turn it off?

Click on User CP.....top left Red Bar...scroll down to EDIT OPTIONS...click on it

Default Thread Subscription Mode: Do Not Subscribe

Turing it off in the UserCP will only work for new threads going forward. It will not turn off notifications of subscriptions for previous threads.

You'll the have to select all threads you want to disable email notifications and use the Selected Threads option to remove email notifications for those threads.

but yes J_T made a point that you still have to unsubscribe to any existing threads you are subscribed to
