Default Site very slow on my Laptop

I have a Dell XPS15 w 6GB RAM and an Intel i4 processor...it is fast enough for gaming and can run almost anything at the same time.....
BUT....this site....it slows my computer down significantly...to the point where the fans start to run as it is using so much virtual memory.

Any idea why it is doing this? I am clean of Malware...and have no add-ons in Firefox. I perform Ccleaner maintenance once a week automatically.

Is it the Ads that run on the side?

Thanks!

Possibly flash/video. Some systems handle it better than others. There are many variables that aren't within our control. It could depend on your browser, version of flash you have, whatever security software you're running as well as whatever else is running in the background. Clearly you have a CPU intensive process causing the fans to run like that. And running CCleaner could create issues besides resolving them.

My XPS only has 4GB as a ultra model, and my CPU does not cause the fans to run like that.

BTW, the XPS15 is known to have GPU/CPU thermal issues that cause it to degrade GPU/CPU (throttle), which in turn lowers performance, due to the cooling system used.

Thank you for your reply....
I doubt the CPU has a thermal issue as I can run games on it without stirring up the fan too hard....

Any suggestions for an add-on blocker for the ads that run?
Would the "upgrade" block the Ads?
It is really that annoying....scrolling even becomes staccato....

S
Get rid of flash. ad-block on Chrome is fantastic.

Yes, some of the XPS15 certainly did have GPU/CPU thermal issues and was known to throttle back pretty quickly which means GPU/CPU performance degrades. I don't know if they got resolved through the product cycle or not but the design was a part of the issue. There's plenty of Dell customers who not only reported the issue but provided actual data with CPU temperature and speed showing it. You can look this up online if you doubt it. XPS15 throttling in Google will get you a start.

Again, I have less memory and less of a CPU in my XPS and I don't have the issue.

Sorry, but we cannot support using products that alter the functionality of the website. As you probably know, ads support this site. While the site is free for members to access and use, it isn't free to operate. It also is too large and active to run on a $9.95/month hosting plans.
