Same here. I wonder if it's a site-wide issue? As of this writing my PMs are still disabled, and my inbox says I have a total of 0 allowed.

Your issue is different from the OP. The PM system, to minimize abuse (spam), has some restrictions for new members and those who don't participate frequently on CorvetteForum.

However, I've manually fixed your account.

Hey,

I can't seem to reply/send any PMs either. Can you please fix my account also?

Thanks!

Both your accounts look OK to me. They should have PM access.

Likely what happened is that your account wasn't upgraded to restore PM access until after you logged into CF and then the CRON job ran after that.

Great, thank you. I basically registered such that I can purchase a Z06 off the forum, but no Corvette yet means not much posting.

I have the same issue. True, I don't post as much as I did, but still like to check in and see what I can offer to newer c4 owners. And hoping to get back into a Vette at some point.

Funny thing though, I got a PM on 3/27 from member "saborlilat70". It asked me to respond in a thread, but the link went to the Forum Homepage. Didn't think much of it then, but now that my PM's are locked I wonder what this was.

Same issue here, no access to PMs. I wouldn't say that I haven't been active either...

Mine is locked also. I haven't used it much the past couple of months. Haven't been on the CF much lately as we are remodeling our house. I'm not even sure where my computer is at the moment.

Fixed!
Thank you very much.

You already do. It is automatic for established members who are active. It just isn't immediate for those who haven't been active.

JT - I "surf " this forum at least daily but many times without logging in. My PM's are also locked and I have one from 3/27 that needs a response as well...

Is there a magic number for the frequency to be logging in to maintain an active status?

Thank you!

I've also got this problem. Cut me off mid-conversation with a forum vendor. Guess I'll just post a bit and hope I meet the cron job's threshold.

I logged back on today and my PM's are unlocked. So I attempted to send a reply to the person who sent me their note on 3/27 and got the following in reply.

"1._____ corvette has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove ______corvette from the recipient list and send the message again."

Guys., what gives here? Seems like a tech update or refresh gone bad

Hard to believe that everyone is suddenly facing the same issue at the same time when in example I've operated the same way for 15 mos as a member and never had this happen before...

Administration took some steps to help prevent or minimize the amount of spam being sent through PMs. We can't provide exact details as that would be counter-productive. "Established" CorvetteForum members should have PM access - especially those who have been active on CorvetteForum when the changes were made. Those that haven't been active up to the point of the change are seeing and reporting the issue but it will, automatically, correct itself when the account is logged in and then some time passes (usually an hour) for the script to process that account. Once the account is processed and the PM access is restored, the account will be normal and have normal PM access as prior to these changes. This isn't something gone wrong or broken, but is the way the system operates given the changes made.

You're probably trying to PM a member that hasn't logged in for some time. That or they have logged in and decided to disable PMs for whatever reason. I can't provide any specifics on your issue since you blanked out the member's account.
