Software update?
Did someone change the software or anything?
I am now only viewing 20 thread and when I tried to reply with I am being told my reply is too short.
Plus I got a bogus PM message.

It sure makes it more bothersome to be unable to scroll down past what has just been posted.

See if this addresses the 20 posts per page as I explained earlier today:

It was likely an old PM that you did not read. No new PMs were sent as a result of this upgrade. If you did receive a "new" PM then it wasn't related.
Note that the software has an option to Pop-Up a notification that you have a new PM. In the past, this feature was globally disabled because it had performance concerns on the server. Right now, after the software upgrade, the feature is currently enabled. It can be disabled, per account, through the UserCP. You would have seen the Pop-Up (unless your browser disallows) message today if you had any PMs that was unread.

Without further information, it's hard to give a specific explanation. But what I'm saying is this upgrade did not result in any new PMs being sent. The notification system, on the other hand, did change and would have prompted for any unread PMs. So something happened in the past to cause the notification to prompt you when they got enabled as part of the software upgrade. As I said, the notifications are core to the software but were disabled due to performance concerns. After the recent upgrade, it's currently globally enabled.
