Default Forum becoming unusable...

Is it me or has the forum become literally unusable because of all the "questionable" ads that boarder on malware. It seems like every week it takes longer and LONGER for the site to load.

I hate that it seems like every other post is an advertisement. You would think that the moderators would force them to post those ads in the appropriate forum sections.....but no.

Well what would you know?

More forum members chatting about the same problems.

Are there any moderators on this forum that could have a civilized conversation about this subject?

And if you're using Firefox you need to be running Ublock origin, ghostery, and disconnect.

Someone's profiting from it, so there you go...
And it's always a tire or oil thread. That's just how Sites are anymore.

"The forum owners", "the venders" , and us "the patrons", are in a 3 way symbiotic relationship on this forum..We all need each other for this forum to survive..If any one of the 3 disappears, the forum disappears..This forum is here for one reason only , to make money....."period"........WW

I've never seen a vendor post in the Off Topic.

Vendors are told when they sign up to be vendors where they can post. They're also given other rules they have to abide by, including how many posts they can have in each of the sections where they can post.

Vendors allow forum members to decide whether they want to be supporting members or not.

Moderators check the forums several times a day to verify that vendors and members are following forum guidelines and rules.

Are you saying it is set up with this forum that vendors can post in the tech sections?

So then, what is the "Vendor For Sale" section for? There's no need to look there because all of the same ads are posted in the "General Discussion" section, where I normally hang out.

You'll need to ask forum administration about that. Those Vendor for Sale sections were just created in the last few years.

I do know the C7 General section only allows one vendor thread per day, where the others allow 3.

It's the same as checking out CNN for news. Most of the headlines are ads. Welcome to the modern interwebs.

How do we politely go about asking the admin this question?

There's the PM system to contact people. Ask Administrator Savewave:

I'm sure Moderators would ask if members could have a civilized conversation about the subject. While CorvetteForum is free to use, it is not free to operate. Ads pay the bills and also Internet Brands is a for-profit business.

Moderators enforce the set rules. Moderators are not involved with advertising. So your questions are probably best addressed by Administrator Savewave as posted above.
